Mrs. Floyd's Kindergarten iPad Project: Emergent Literacy
Video - Mrs. Floyd piloted Footsteps to Brilliance, an early literacy and vocabulary development program designed to be used with iPads. Mrs.Floyd did this in partial fulfillment of the requirements for a MA and in cooperation with Napa Learns. The iPads are currently on loan to Mrs. Floyd as she continues to develop iPad instruction.

Welcome to Yountville Elementary School!
Equipping students for the 21st century through the power of the arts…
At Yountville Elementary School, we believe an exemplary education program is the result of students, staff, parents and community uniting to develop ethical citizens, life-long learners and creative leaders.
Yountville Elementary school is a K-6 California Distinguished School with an enrollment of 160 students. We are committed to delivering the best education possible. Our goal is that all our classrooms be a source of excitement for learning with a rigorous, student-centered curriculum. We strive to entertain the natural curiosity in all children and to foster a true love of learning.
As a true neighborhood school, we take great pride in our student’s achievements and our school’s appearance. Colorful flowerbeds, well-tended grounds, and a white picket fence create a safe and inviting atmosphere. Our campus is a community-oriented facility — used after hours for childcare, after-school enrichment classes, 4-H and scout meetings. We welcome parent and community involvement to assist with fundraisers and events throughout the year.
Y.E.S. for Success!

Children’s Teaching Garden
Children’s Teaching Garden Renovation
If you haven't noticed the Children’s Garden is undergoing some renovation. A small group of local residents are working to revitalize the garden space so it can be used to teach our children about the benefits of growing and eating real food. The space has been cleared of debris, 2 large trees removed and the entire plot has been rototilled. There is a plan developed by a local landscape architect and will be presented to the teachers and staff in February. Look forward to future updates on the website on this project!
